You have 30 days from the citation date to respond. That deadline comes from Maryland Transportation Code § 16-303. Pay, request a trial, or ask for a waiver hearing. If you do nothing, the court tells the MVA. The MVA suspends your license. Getting it reinstated means paying the fine and a reinstatement fee. Must-appear violations like DUI under § 21-902 cannot be paid online. You have to show up at the courthouse in Upper Marlboro or Hyattsville. Driving on a suspended license and other serious charges also require a court appearance in Prince George's County.
Payment plans are available if your fines total $150 or more. Use Form DCA-131 to set up 10 monthly payments. But installment plans cannot be paid online or at MVA kiosks. Only mail and in-person payments work for plans in Prince George's County. Bring your plan agreement paperwork when paying in person.

Prince George's County Traffic Ticket Appeals
If you disagree with a District Court ruling on your traffic case, you can appeal. File a Notice of Appeal within 30 days of the judgment. Appeals from Prince George's County District Court go to the Circuit Court at 14735 Main Street in Upper Marlboro. The Circuit Court phone is 301-952-3318 or toll-free at 800-937-1335. Mahasin El Amin serves as the Circuit Court Clerk.
The appeal is de novo. That means the Circuit Court hears the case fresh. The judge does not review what happened at District Court. You get a new trial with the same charge. The officer or citing agency must appear and testify again. You can bring new evidence and witnesses. If you lose at Circuit Court, the next level is the Appellate Court of Maryland. But most Prince George's County traffic ticket appeals end at the Circuit Court level. The process adds time, but it gives you a second chance to present your side of the case.
Note: The 30-day appeal deadline is strict, and missing it means you lose the right to challenge the District Court ruling on your Prince George's County traffic case.
